One-day itinerary in La Désirade by buggy
A suggested route to make the most of your rental day, from morning pickup to drop-off.
One day is plenty to discover La Désirade's most beautiful spots by buggy. Here's the itinerary we most often recommend to our customers — feel free to adapt it to your own pace.
9am — Pick up your buggy in Beauséjour
Welcome right off the boat, a quick vehicle briefing, and you're ready to head off on your own adventure.
9:30am — Head to Plage du Souffleur
A first stop at one of the island's most beautiful beaches, shaded by palm trees. Perfect for a morning swim before the heat sets in.
11am — Baie-Mahault sea cemetery
A stop steeped in history, right by the ocean, on the way to the tip of the island.
11:30am — Pointe Doublé lighthouse and cotton mill ruins
The end of the world, Désirade-style: a wild landscape, a century-old lighthouse, and the remains of an old cotton mill overlooking the lagoon.
1pm — Lunch break
Head back to Beauséjour or wherever you like for a well-deserved lunch — remember to bring a picnic or scout out a local restaurant in advance.
2pm — Climb to the Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire chapel
The climb is steep, but the view from the lookout point is one of the island's finest — the perfect way to end your day in style.
3:30pm — Return the vehicle in Beauséjour
The end of your adventure day, just in time for the return boat.
